1️⃣ What is the Open Water SSI Course?
The Open Water SSI course is your gateway to the world of independent scuba diving. At Atlantis Diving Lanzarote, you'll learn to dive safely and at your own pace, surrounded by the incredible underwater landscapes of the island. This course qualifies you to dive down to 18 meters deep and is designed both for complete beginners and for those who want to formalize their passion for diving. It includes online interactive theory, 3 confined water dives and 4 open water dives.
2️⃣ How is the course structured?
📘 Step 1: Online theory with the MySSI App
Before jumping in the water, you’ll study comfortably from home using the MySSI digital platform. You'll learn about safety, diving techniques, and how to use the equipment in an interactive format. This way, by the time you arrive in Lanzarote, you’ll be fully prepared to apply everything you've learned underwater.
🏊 Step 2: Confined Water Practice
Just like a pilot starts in a simulator, you’ll begin with 3 confined water dives in a safe and controlled environment. You’ll practice essential skills like mask clearing, buoyancy control, using the regulator, and key safety techniques—always under the guidance of instructors with a maximum ratio of 3 students per instructor.
🌊 Step 3: Open Water Dives
Now comes the real adventure: 4 open water dives (2 down to 12 m and 2 down to 18 m), exploring the stunning volcanic seascapes of Lanzarote. At least two of these dives will be conducted from our private boat, allowing you to access exclusive areas and enjoy a truly adventurous diving experience.
